This is my own design inspired from an original vintage handbag in my collection of Edwardian beaded bags.  This is a larger version measuring approx.  16cm x 16cm without ribbon.  Made from a vintage French rustic linen & hemp textile, I have trimmed it with a fragment of bobbin lace rescued from a Victorian collar and a length of early 20th century woven rayon ribbon in a gorgeous raspberry red colour.  The finishing touch is a beautiful and very unusual French hand embroidered motif with a tiny printed message on the reverse ~ this was found in a 19th century religious box.  Filled purely with French lavender.
